BJP’s district media in-charge Arvind Mishra said a cultural glimpse of Kashi will be showcased from the airport to the hotel. Along the Prime Minister’s route, residents and party workers will welcome him with Indian and Mauritian flags and damrus amid the ringing of bells. Cultural programmes, including singing, music, and dance performances by artists from Banaras and elsewhere, will be held at several places.
Mishra said arrangements will also be made to shower flowers at various places. Kashi will present a picture of miniature India to mark the day.
Earlier, former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited Kashi on December 12, 2015, and was overwhelmed by the unprecedented welcome. Similarly, French President Emmanuel Macron visited Kashi in March 2018 and took a boat ride in the Ganga with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Cultural programmes were organised on the ghats at that time.
